GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION TO THE FOURTH OMAN NEUROLOGY CONFERENCE 8-9 NOVEMBER 2024

Abstract submission is opened until 15 October 2024.

General Guidelines:
  • Delegates who would like to present their work at the 4th Oman Neurology Conference (4th ONC), as a poster, are invited to submit an abstract for consideration by the scientific committee.
  • The author of the abstract selected for presentation must be registered at the conference.
  • Abstracts cannot be edited after the submission deadline.
  • Abstracts are accepted on a topics related to neurology and neurosciences.
  • There is no limit to the number of abstracts an investigator may submit. If selected, the presenter must be one of the co-authors listed. If multiple submissions are accepted, the presenting author must resolve schedule conflicts by arranging for a co-author to present.
  • The rules for preparing the abstracts are on this page. Failure to observe these guidelines may result in disqualification.
The Abstract Content:
  • Abstracts should be submitted as a Word Document, using 12-point font, 1.5 lines spacing, with a maximum of 350 words, excluding title, authors and affiliations
  • The abstract needs to be structured as follows:
      • Abstract Title: An abstract must have a short, specific title (containing no abbreviations or inflammatory language) that indicates the nature of the article/research.
      • Abstract Text: We recommend abstracts have the following identifiable sections:
          • Introduction/Background
          • Goals/Aims
          • Methods
          • Results (descriptive and inferential statistics)
          • Conclusion(s): this section should provide only conclusions of the study directly supported by the results, along with implications for clinical practice, avoiding speculation and over-generalization.
      • Abstracts must contain data and meet international ethical standards.
      • Abbreviations should be defined.
      • Trade names cannot be mentioned in the title. However, trade names in brackets will be accepted in the body of the text.
  • Please ensure your abstract does not contain spelling, grammar, or scientific mistakes, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. Linguistic accuracy is your responsibility. No proof reading will be done.
Submission Process:
  • Abstracts should be sent as a WORD document attachment to: [email protected] before the deadline (15th October 2024)
  • The submitting author will receive an acknowledgment email.
  • After reviewing by the scientific committee, submitting author will be notified whether their abstract has been accepted, and they will be informed about when, and where to mount the POSTER as well as the date and time of the author to be present in front of the their poster. All notifications will be sent out to the e-mail address given on the submission e-mail.
  • Accepted posters should be prepared in a single page in portrait Format – WIDTH 90 CM and HIGHT 190 CM.
